[[HUH?!]]
OH, I'M SORRY, YOU'RE A GIRL?
I PLAYED A FEW CHAPTERS OF HOSHIZORA NO COMIC GARDEN AND WENT AFTER REN AND THEN LATER FOUND OUT, WTF YOU'RE A GIRL?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE JUST GIRLY?
To double confirm this, I googled it...
...
sigh it's true.
This is what happens when I don't read Japanese carefully (=__=)
I got tired of reading the Japanese halfway I kinda tapped my stylus blindly sometimes when my eyes are sore.
I know what Kym must be thinking now, it must be something along the lines of "HAHA YOU LESBO."
WAAAALIEWW.
Waste my time wooing, coz even if I love her so muchhhhh, this is not a yuri game (;3;)
I is sad desu.
They should make a universal ren-ai game. Where het, yaoi and yuri are all options. (*-*)
SIGHH. Back to wooing blue haired dude or the playboy one (=_=)
REVIEW TIMEZ: Hoshizora no comic garden
Story begins when you are little, you and your best friend, Ryo, gets lost in the forest. [mainly you're doing] and find a stranger who is actually a mangaka. He shows you his work and voices out the text to make it more interesting. [creepy really]
and to the airheaded character that you are suppose to be, go "WAAA ITS MAGICCXX"
Then you are brought forth to schooling days where you meet familiar blue-head-boy, Ryo. I read his kanji name as Hikari and thought "what? diff people?" But, no. That's just me being stupid. Arghhh hate Kanji sometimes (=_=)
Then on you get to choose between the following:
1. Blue haired dude : Ryou
Childhood friend, cool possessive hottie and seriously I think he fell superrrr hard for the female lead but obviously "too shy to tell" type
2. Red/pink hair: Hibiki
A hottie player boy. Has many fans. He's also a manga-ka. Super cute and nice.
3. Green haired bespectacled boy: Kamiya
Super cold dude who is a meanie. But oh so hot in a suit too. He's the ONLY guy in specs I like, so far in otome games. But not aiming for him, maybe like... 2nd round (=_=) too much work seriously. He's definitely older and works for a publishing company ( I think ). He keeps nagging at you to show him your original manga work.
4. Purple hair lunatic: Keigo
When you first meet Keigo, you would find that his hair resembles medusa. He apparently has split-duo personality. He "transforms" into medusa lunatic when he's executing awesome manga work or when something is in peril *gasps* Otherwise, when he is in a normal-mode, i can hardly hear his voice (=_=) which irritates me coz I'm sick of reading kanji and what not (X_X) He's your manga sensei.
5. SHOUTA BOY: Kyoichi
Blonde, girly and reminds me of hani sempai. He's some CF hottie [i found the CF super disturbing btw. it was just a picture, but still...] and is a seiyuu for Keigo' Momo anime thingum. I don't get why
every otome game caters to the Shouta crowd. Obviously, I did not persue him, coz i'm not a pedo thanks ): and he's not THAT cute. I'm now stuck at his chapter and MYGAWD. Gimme a break seriously. So much teen angst (=_=)
Like mentioned, I'm dismayed I cannot court Ren, BECAUSE SHE'S UBER HOT AND LIKE SUPER NICE AND KEEPS BLUSHING AND LAUGHING AT WHATEVER I SAY. (*3*)
Overall I find that the text was too much only because there is no "auto-fast-forward" function you find in most otome games. This is a pain in the butt if you restarted your game for choosing the wrong option that makes ur favourite guy go :((((
THERE IS ALSO NO SAVE FUNCTION.
You will only be prompted to save when you finish a chapter or will begin to play some of the mini games.
It's really frustrating because sometimes the save option comes out way too late when you seriously just need a break from reading too much words. For the 2 nights I've played, it's actually before bed and I keep going on sometimes and then be like "i r want to sleep mygawd. when will this stop."
Because of the no "skip"/ "auto-fast-forward" function, restarting is hardly the option (x__X)
I didn't like the CG bits too. In Duel Love, they cut out most of the female character, so it makes it seem like "omg it's really j00", in hoshizora, they loveeee to slap it in your face that you look like Usagi (of sailormoon) who is chibi and has ugly pink hair [and no i'm not talking about chibiusagimoon or smth]. The character design of the female lead brings me back to those days.. in like what... the 70s/80s ? which is a let down. I'm not an airhead with ugly pink hair (T_T)
They also kinda "force" you to collect certain CGs. There is no escape. I was not going to go after the 32-year-old- but-looks-like-20-teacher [Keigo]. But suddenly because of the whole "chapter- focusing" [every chara gets his own MAIN arc], he has 3 points like my favourite boy. My 2nd favourite boy only has 2 and he's like, supposed to be head over heels in love with me too (=_=) doesnt make sense imo.
However, it has relatively easy mini games. Some parts where it's a bit annoying because one pixel off in your colouring or sketching, you would totally fail. I love however, all the drawing parts though I didn't understand a bulk of the instructions at first, I learnt to read carefully and not rush haha.
It's also super easy to score points with the favourite guy. I found out that even if you have ZERO clue to what was said earlier [sometimes i skip and they dont show you what was said previously, also DOWN point (=_=)], to please the last person who said it, click the last option. It works
most of the time. Of course, reading it and understanding it is better.
Duel love was seriously a much easier game (@_@) The dialog was a breeze ~ I recommend duel love to anyone with a DS first, before hoshizora~
After this, I'm going to try out another otome game, that I read has too much text overload, but it seems really good. So we'll see~
